Fast growing big shrub or tree with sunflower-like flowers. Very showy and easy to grow. Good choice when you need to hide an ugly wall or fence or make privacy in a short time period. Cold hardy to at least zone 9.
Previously known as the "equitant Oncidiums," the species were segregated from the mega-genus Oncidium.
One of the few ground covers that grow equally well in sun or semi-shade. Plants make a compact, upright bush of eight to twelve inches in height. The pale violet flowers have deep purple blotches on the lower petals with yellow inside. The cool colors are a welcome relief during the heat of summer. This everblooming ground cover looks like a bright blanket. Attracts bufferflies and makes a blooming atmosphere. Easy to grow, drought tolerant.
Moderately frost hardy vine that grows in full sun to full shade, asian jasmine has oval leaves 1-2 inches long that are glossy and dark green. It has a compact habit and will grow prostrate on the ground or cling to a wall. It is the answer for anyone wanting that elusive combination: an evergreen climber with heavily scented flowers. The foliage is neat and unobtrusive, and makes a good background for the clusters of creamy white flowers that appear in mid-summer. It is particularly good for growing over an arch or arbour where the delicious perfume can be best appreciated.
