Cerbera x manghas hybrid grafted on Cerbera odollam which sprouted its green growth from underneath the graft.
 Cerbera odollam
Family: Apocynaceae
Chiute, Chatthankai, Grey Milkwood, Sea Mango, Pong Pong Tree
Origin: Southern Asia
Small tree 10-20 ftFull sunRegular waterWhite/off-white flowersFragrantPoisonous or toxicUltra tropical, min. temperature 55FFlood tolerantSeaside, salt tolerant plant

This is a small to medium-sized tree with dark foliage and showy, white flowers which are very fragrant. The whorled leaves are crowded near the ends of rather thickish branches with conspicuous leaf scars below. The fragrant white flowers have a yellow throat. The fruits are often twinned, ellipsoid and speckled green. The seed coat is thin and after falling, soon decays, exposing fibrous tissue. Seeds are extremely poisonous. This plant is similar to Plumeria, but the leaves are smaller and slightly rolled with a reddish midrib. Pong Pong is one of popular ornamental plants which has unique characteristic. Its seed looks like a ball which has beautiful skin. It can be grown in a small pot to show on office desk or everywhere you want for decoration. Moreover when it grows enough, it also has beautiful shape, with white flowers and many young green seeds. Growing from seed: Place the seed horizontally on top of the soil and dig it in 1/3 size. It should sprout within 3-4 weeks at temperature above 80-85F (Will take much longer at cooler temepature). You may grow this plant like a "Lucky Bean" and place the pot on your desktop or a window sill. In the ground it will grow in a small-size (8-10 ft) bushy tree.

Cerbera odollam is similar to Cerbera manghas and in some sources these names are considered as synonims.

This is an amazing plant with beautiful striped red-white flowers that are highly fragrant. Fragrance is the most intense you can imagine and is much better than all jasmines all together. The plant is very similar to plumeria in growth habit. Beautiful leaves, too.

Absolutely NEW perfume plant that nobody has yet! This amazing flower was recommended to us by our friend horticulturist John Mood, he discovered it in Thailand. We finally have the plants, and yes, they bloomed and fragrance is amazing! This Cerbera hybrid has beautiful striped red-and-white flowers that are highly fragrant. Fragrance is the most intense you can imagine and is much better than all jasmines and gardenias all together. The plant is very similar to plumeria in growth habit. Beautiful mauve colored leaves are very ornamental. We believe that this plant will become one of the most wanted in rare plants market.

Clivia miniata, Bush Lily, Boslelie

Clivia miniata is a clump forming perennial with dark green, strap shaped leaves which arise from a fleshy underground stem. The flowering heads of brilliant orange (rarely yellow), trumpet shaped flowers appear mainly in spring but also sporadically at other times of the year. The deep green shiny leaves are a perfect foil for the masses of orange flowers. Clivia are endemic to southern Africa, meaning that they do not occur naturally anywhere else in the world! The bush lily grows in dappled shade, often in large colonies. The soil is well drained and humus rich. Occasionally they may be found growing in the fork of a tree. Sadly in many areas colonies of wild bush lilies have been destroyed by harvesting for traditional medicine and also by plant collectors. Clivia miniata is easily cultivated and very rewarding. It should be planted in dappled shade, (they are sensitive to sunlight and will burn easily). The plants should be watered regularly during the summer months which is their growing season. The bush lily is frost tender and may be damaged if in a position that is exposed, to cold winds especially. It takes a long time for the damage to grow out if this happens, so it is best to select a sheltered site. The rhizomes are reportedly extremely toxic but are used medicinally for various purposes. The name meaning: Clivia - after the Duchess of Northumberland, Lady Charlotte Clive who first cultivated and flowered the type specimen in England; miniata - color of red lead - referring to the flowers.
