Unusual form of Monstera. Leathery foliage. Makes an interesting indoor specimen. Slow growing. Leaves have oval holes. It is sometimes referred to as the juvenile form of Monstera adansonii. Very close related species - Monstera adansonii. There are many hybrids in cultivation between Monstera adansonii and Monstera obliqua.
Monstera obliqua leaves are as thin as a sheet of paper, when adansonii leaves are a bit rough. Obliquas leaves consist mostly of holes. Adansonii leaves are not as longitindial as obliqua's. The holes in adansonii cover generally half of the adult leaf.
Radiator plant, False Philodendron. This perfect houseplant has bright emerald leaves and is a very fast grower and requires minimum care. It has glossy elongated heart-shaped foliage evenly spaced along long stems. Leaves resemble those of Philodendron scandens, hence the common name. This plant makes a great hanging basket or cascade in a planter. Great for beginners! Allow getting slightly dry between waterings.
These evergreen, sometimes succulent houseplants may be either rosette-forming or erect with trailing stems.
Rhaphidophora decursiva is a robust evergreen climber, climbing into trees up to 10 m or more by means of roots produced from stem. Leaves are large, glossy, pinnately lobed.
Mini Monstera originated from Thailand. Sometimes called Dwarf Monstera or Monstera Ginny due to its resemblance to Monstera deliciosa, the leaves of Rhaphidophora tetrasperma are similarly split and stay quite small. This is a fast-growing vining plant that remains compact, can be grown in a pot or as a house plant. This plant is easy to care for and loves to climb and thrives in bright indirect light.
Pinnate foliage is depending on the individual plant's stage of life. Young plants have juvenile leaves that are not divided, but as the plant grows, they will start splitting.
See Article about Philodendrons.
This plant is cultivated for satiny dark green juvenile leaves which are heart-shaped with irregular silver spots. Light green foliage is spotted with silvery, reflective variegation. The heart-shaped leaves are velvety to the touch and matte in texture, which has led this plant to have the common names Philodendron Silver and Satin Pothos (though botanically it is neither Philodendron nor Pothos). Eventually, its vines grow quite long, making Scinapsus pictus a great choice for hanging planters.
