Outstanding houseplant, but like many spurges, sap is toxic, and thus called "Blindness Tree" in Southeast Asia. Easy. Eight compounds have been obtained from the root and stem of Excoecaria cochinchinensis growing in Tonghai county of Yunnan province (China). Leaves were extracted by various extracting procedures, using different solvents for testing the antimicrobial activities against Staphylococcus aureus. |
