Description of Eucalyptus polyanthemos: Rounded, gray-green leaves to 3" and abundant 3 to 6" clusters of white flowers. The main trunk is short and branching and has a fibrous bark and densely textured crown. A good landscaping tree, fast growing and good cut foliage. T his plant will do good in medium to heavy, well drained soils in an open position. Drought and frost resistant. Watering Needs: Occasional deep watering, Drought-resistant once established. Honey Eucalyptus - The leaves of this plant are delightfully honey-scented, making this a very important bee plant in Australia. E. melliodora is considered to be the best native tree for honey production, the honey produced has a delightful golden color and an excellent taste. It is a source of essential oils used in perfumery and medicine. Despite the enormous height they normally attain, they can be grown indoors with occasional pruning to maintain a manageable size. The foliage is grey-green and elegant, and the flowers are very fragrant, white-to-cream, and flower in spring through summer. The bark is variable, fibrous to coarse, and usually fawn brown to dark brown. This bark is deciduous; in late summer the bark peels, revealing a smooth, white underbark.
