| Dichorisandra thyrsiflora Family: Commelinaceae Blue Ginger, Brazilian Ginger Origin: Brazil, Peru ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Blue Ginger is a wonderful, tropical-looking plant which resembles ginger in growth and habit, but is actually a relative of the wandering Jew plant. Erect, clump-forming, rhizomatous, soft-stemmed, evergreen perennial. Cultivated for the handsome spotted stems, large shiny foliage which is held horizontally, surmounted by striking blue flowers. It needs abundant water, keep soil moist, the air should be humid when the plant is in growth. |
