Varieties: Purple, Green. Season: February-MayThis beautiful shade tree has glossy dark green leaves with a silky bronze color underneath. Caimito is a favorite in the Caribbean and Central America as well as Southeast Asia. The fruit has a mild grape-like flavor, and is best eaten fresh.

No difference in taste whether fruit is green or yellow. Just make sure that the fruit is tender and soft to touch before eating. Delicious when served chilled. No need to peel. It is called CAIMITO.

I was expecting a larger tree, but was impressed that I had very little leaf drop. Even though this tree is very small, I was overall pleased with the health of it. I have kept it outdoors even when night time temps have dropped below 60 degrees, and it is still growing more leaves. I am now looking forward to more growth and eventually the delicious fruit that I have heard so much about!
