This is a tough, spiny tree with an erupting growth habit. New branches burst straight up as if ejected by a volcano, cascading onto the countryside below as they become longer and heavier. Mature height is 30 feet, but it's easy to keep under 15' with annual pruning. Yellow-orange flowers along the branches on and off all year - especially after a rain. Flowers in times of high humidity. No environmental or pest problems. A very decorative accent tree with many blossoms and unusual form and foliage. Leaves are tiny and evergreen. Requires a lot of sun for at least part of the day. Highly drought-tolerant.
