 Euphorbia leucocephala
Family: Euphorbiaceae
Pascuita, Snows of Kilimanjaro, White Small Leaf Poincettia, Snow Bush, White-laced euphorbia, Snow Flake, Poinsettia
Origin: Central America, from southern Mexico to El Salvador
large shrub 5-10 ftsmall tree 10-20 ftfull sunregular waterwhite/off-white flowersornamental foliageirritatingfragrantattracts butterflies, hummingbirdssubtropical, cold hardy at least to 30s F for a short timeincuded in CD catalog

Shrub with decorative white bracts. Unusual species with tiny small leaves, white on top, reminding popular Poincettia. Unlike many other euphorbias, this plant is very fragrant. When it is in bloom, the air around is filled with a sweet pleasant smell. It is a close relative of the well-known and equally eyecatching, Poinsettia. In Euphorbias, the showy parts of the plant are actually leaf-shaped bracts; the tiny flowers are found in the centre of each bract. It is a fast rowing, relatively large shrub. Every part of the plant exudes a milky-white latex when damaged and may cause skin irritation when touched. Flowering time - late autumn. Protect from wind as stems tend to be brittle. It will need to be pruned back hard after flowering to stop it from becoming straggly. Caution - wear gloves when pruning and ensure no milky sap touches the body as it may be very irritating.

Origin: Madagascar
Can be used for bonsaismall shrub 2-5 ftshadesemi-shademoderate waterregular waterornamental foliageirritatingSeaside, salt tolerant plant

Euphorbia milii, Crown of thorns
 Euphorbia milii
Family: Euphorbiaceae
Crown of thorns
Origin: Madagascar
small shrub 2-5 ftfull sunmoderate waterdry conditionswhite/off-white flowersred/crimson/vinous flowersyellow/orange flowerspink flowersirritatingthorny or spinyattracts butterflies, hummingbirdsSeaside, salt tolerant plantincuded in CD catalog

This slow-growing evergreen, succulent shrub can attain a height of two feet. It has green leaves and either yellow, red or pink flowers. Various hybrids of the plant have been produced offering larger, different color bracts, whether yellow or pink. The plant has a high drought tolerance and can be propagated by cuttings. Prostrate and upright forms are available. The sap of this plant can be a skin irritant. The plant has thorns.

Chinese grow E. millii as plant of fortune, they believe that when the plant produces 8 flower in an inflorescence, they will be lucky. Hybridization of Euphobia millii started in Thailand and China around 1990. A single complete collection of cultivars wouldn't exist because too many hybrids were produced. See Euphorbia gallery and Thai Euphorbias - exotic milti-colored.
