A truly very rare plant in cultivation anywhere. Medium size tree with unusual flowers 4-5" wide with dark red petals that turn yellow towards daisy-like center. Has large ornamental leathery leaves. Compact shape. Drought tolerant. This plant is easy to grow in container, it starts blooming in young age, when it is about 2-3 ft tall. Attracts butterflies, bees and hummingbirds. Prefers full sun but can tolerate light shade.

The fruits are aromatic, eaten raw or preserved.
