| Tarenna sp. Family: Rubiaceae Tarenna Origin: Africa, SE Asia, Australia ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Tarenna is a small tree with glossy foliage and slightly corky bark. The broad, smooth, pointed leaves are paired on the stem. The leaves are dark green above and lighter green below, with a scar between the leaves.The flowers are white and at the ends of the branchlets, and are followed by egg-shaped black fruits, 7 – 8 mm long, enclosing two seeds. Species and varieties: Tarenna pavettoides (False Bride’s Bush), South Africa. Good in shady damp spots. |
