One of the most popular fruit trees both for gardens and commercial fruit crops. Grafted plum trees are capable of bearing large crops from 1-2 year after planting. They make delightful ornamental trees due to their mass display of white blossoms during August. When it flowers in the early spring, a plum tree will be covered in blossom, and in a good year approximately half of the flowers will be pollinated and become plums. Plum fruit tastes sweet and/or tart; the skin may be particularly tart. It is juicy and can be eaten fresh or used in jam-making or other recipes.
