These are hardy and tropical, aquatic perennials native to Australia, South Africa and the Northern Hemisphere. There are many hybrids, which have been developed from the wild species. Water Lilies produce handsome, floating foliage and gorgeous blossoms. They may be night blooming, depending on species,and sometimes fragrant.The berry-like fruits mature underwater. There are both frost-hardy and tropical varieties. |
